Bridge2Bayer

Make your voice heard

Welcome to Bridge2Bayer – a place where we want to talk to you about your illness, your daily routines, the challenges you face and your needs. Our aim is to develop better health information and services for you.

At Bridge2Bayer we listen to what you have to say! For instance, during telephone interviews, personal talks or group discussions. What moves you? What helps you to live with your disease? What obstacles have you come across during the course of your illness? We will ask about your wishes and experience and we will discuss possible solutions with you.

At Bridge2Bayer we want to learn from you! When you go to the doctor, use an app or website or when reading our brochures and materials. We want to learn from you and experience first-hand what works and what doesn’t.

At Bridge2Bayer our mission is your mission! This allows us to develop the products and health services that patients really need in order to achieve a better quality of life.

With your support, you are actively helping us to improve our products, materials and offers for you. That’s something that helps you and others who are in a similar situation.

It’s easy to take part and there are many different options open to you. Your time and your contribution are valuable and that’s why we will provide you with a reasonable expense allowance.

The project addresses patients. Data privacy and confidentiality are guaranteed at all times.

Patient Engagement Council

The Bayer Global Oncology Patient Engagement Council was launched in 2021 to advise Bayer on how to make clinical trials more meaningful to patients and their families. The council consists of research advocates from the patient and caregiver community. The council reviews plans for clinical studies to minimize patient burden, suggests ideas to improve patient retention and enrollment, helps connect with patient communities to share results of clinical studies and helps create patient friendly language to improve understanding and use of healthcare information to make appropriate health decisions.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Patient Engagement Council, please scroll to the end of this page to fill out the contact form.

Digital Patient Council

The Digital Patient Council is a diverse group of patient advocates and caregivers, who come from different parts of the world and walks of life to help create simple and reliable scientific information for patients and caregivers on Bayer’s Global Oncology Instagram Channel @bayer_oncology, the purpose of which is to raise awareness of all cancer types for everyone. The council guides strategies, suggests educational topics, ensures patient friendly language and content that meets patient and caregiver needs. The Global Medical team at Bayer meets regularly with the council to discuss what topics and gaps should be the focus and opportunities for collaboration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this for me?

You do not have to be taking one of our drugs in order to take part. You will be required to consent to participating in the project. Children will only be requested to consent in individual cases and in the presence of their parents. We also invite patient organizations and caring relatives to take part.

In some cases, we are looking for people with diseases that we are already working on or for which we already have medications. In certain projects, it is important that you belong to a certain group while in other projects it is important for you to be in a certain stage of the disease or to have undergone certain examinations or treatment.

The types of participants depend on the specific projects. If you are interested in taking part, please go ahead and register with us. We will then check to see if we currently have the right project for you. If this is not the case, we will contact you again for future Bridge2Bayer projects.

What can I do and what is expected of me?

We would like to talk to you personally. For instance, about what you have experienced and your needs in certain illness situations, or about the information and services that we would like to develop together with you. We may have some material we developed before and would like to hear from you whether this is understandable, relevant and usable.

We can talk in a one-to-one interview or we can have a group discussion. What’s important to us is that you are willing to talk openly about your experience and needs, both positive and negative. We would like to hear your honest opinion when you evaluate our materials and measures.

Our projects are normally scheduled for a period of four to eight weeks. Even though these are individual projects, we are interested in working with you over a longer period of time. After all, the more we get to know each other, the better we can carry out our projects together.

Why should I join?

Our projects are basically about improving information and services for patients and doctors. Your participation will help to ensure that (more) understandable and (more) relevant information is provided on certain diseases or topics in the future. With your help, we may even provide information and services on topics where up to now we failed to see a need.

It goes without saying, that we will compensate you in the appropriate manner for your cooperation. The amount varies and depends, among other things, on your type of commitment and on local regulations. We will, of course, compensate you for any travel and accommodation expenses. You will be required to pay tax on this compensation.

What’s more, our previous projects showed that the participants were able to gain new information for themselves or benefit from the wealth of experience of people in similar circumstances. Some of these participants even considered this exchange to be the most valuable part of our projects.

Are drugs tested at Bridge2Bayer?

No. The projects that we are referring to here are not about testing the effect and side-effects of drugs. Instead, the aim here is to improve information and services for patients and doctors and to make things easier to understand.

How is my personal data handled?
